International corporations have no loyalty to any nation. Remember when the
fearful cry was ‘Godless Communism’ is coming! The 1%  knew that was a lie,
but it served as a useful diversion so we wouldn’t notice that ‘Oligarchs’
are coming! Too late. They’re here. No, they’ve already come and gone with
our money, governments (state and federal) and liberties.

So get out and show ‘them’ where you stand. Speak up! Wave a sign. Let your
children know that you care about their future and be an example of citizenship
for them to follow. Stand up and be counted.

Happy ‘Day’ Earthlings!

Frank James Morgan’s sculpture of the original American warrior came at a time (Guadalcanal 1942) when war was an accepted necessity. After his military career he adopted a ‘make art, not war‘ philosophy, as many thoughtful veterans do.

But even before that two time Medal of Honor winner, Marine General Smedley Butler
said this (paraphrased), among other things …

In the early 1930s, while Japan invaded Manchuria, this hero was courted by a wealthy cabal seeking to overthrow America’s Depression mired government in order to create an Il Duce style fascist state. Butler refused to lead the coup and exposed the plot.

Bulter’s fear (he pre-dated Ike by 25 years) of the Military-Industrial complex has ballooned into the Military-Industrial-Financial-Medical-Surveilance megaplex and the USA has been constantly at war since 1939 (when we chose to side with Britain and geared up our industrial might to serve that aim). Japan, Germany, Italy, Soviet Union, China, Korea, Lebanon, Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia,Iran, Egypt, Central America (several times), Cuba, Haiti, Grenada, Chili, Columbia, Panama, the Balkans, Afghanistan, Iraq (twice), (I feel as if I’ve missed a country here and there) have all felt our ‘wrath’, much of it under the mystifying umbrella called Cold War.

Yet there have been other misty catch-alls like War on Poverty, Drug War, War against Terrorism (whatever that is) they never end, either. All serve to strip our wealth, stamina and civil rights.
